A mysterious good Samaritan, who identifies herself only as “Mrs. Claus,” spread Christmas cheer in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, this holiday season.
Before Christmas, Mrs. Claus left dozens of wrapped presents under the borough’s downtown Christmas tree, along with a heartfelt note addressed to the community.
The note read:
“Merry Christmas Chambersburg!
In these gifts you will find all sorts of gently used items for anyone who needs a gift on Christmas. They are all labeled with who they may be best for. Please share with friends, family and neighbors or anyone you know who is in need this holiday season. Spread joy, spread love, spread kindness.
“I give you a new commandment: love one another, just as I have loved you, you must love another” (John 13:34)
P.S. Please take all your gifts home to be unopened
Mrs. Clause”
The gifts were wrapped in festive paper and labeled with suggestions for who they might be best suited for, such as “a child who loves to read” or “a family in need.”
The community was touched by Mrs. Claus’s generosity and quickly snapped up the gifts. Many people took to social media to express their gratitude, with some calling her a “real-life angel.”
“This is such a heartwarming act of kindness,” said one resident. “It’s truly the spirit of Christmas!”
Another resident added, “I was so touched by this. It’s a reminder that there are still good people in the world.”
Mrs. Claus’s identity remains a mystery, but her actions have made a lasting impact on the Chambersburg community. Her generosity has inspired others to give back and spread Christmas cheer, making the holiday season even more special.
