WAYNESBORO- The spirit of the season shone brightly for local veterans as Salem Church, the American Legion, and Auxiliary members teamed up to deliver gifts and share precious moments at veteran homes.

This heartwarming collaboration saw Salem Church gather donations of toiletries and Christmas cards, while Auxiliary members Joan Sanbower, Debbie Morrow, and Bev Adolini knitted cozy lap afghans – personal touches that resonated with the veterans. Christmas stockings bursting with cheerful cards from Emma K. Doub Elementary School students, sweet treats, and festive candy added to the joy. Completing the picture, the Sons of the American Legion presented proud flags, symbols of the veterans’ unwavering service.

Witnessing the genuine smiles and delight on the veterans’ faces was the truest reward. The opportunity to share stories, laughter, and heartwarming conversations created memories that will last far beyond the holiday season.
