CHAMBERSBURG- Leadership Franklin County (LFC) is seeking applications for its flagship LFC Community program and the LFC Youth initiative, offering residents and high school students opportunities to develop vital leadership skills and contribute to their community.
LFC Community, established in 1985, is a nine-month program geared towards adults aiming to become “inclusive civic leaders engaged in the advancement of the quality of life in Franklin County.” Participants delve deep into leadership concepts, local issues, and team dynamics through monthly sessions, a team-building retreat, and a culminating project partnered with a local nonprofit. Applications for the 2024-2025 class are open until March 28, 2024, with limited scholarships available.
For high school students, LFC Youth provides a platform to cultivate “responsible, ethical, and effective leadership.” The program spans sophomore year, incorporating essential lessons on the “Five Practices of Exemplary Student Leadership,” public speaking, diversity and inclusion, and community service. Applications for the 2024-2025 class are open until February 2, 2024, and are open to any incoming sophomore in good academic standing.
