BLUE RIDGE SUMMIT – An employee at SGI’s Charmian Plant in Blue Ridge Summit has graduated from the Pennsylvania Aggregates and Concrete Association Emerging Leaders Academy, a hybrid program meant to enhance the skill set of potential leaders in the aggregates, concrete and cement industries.
Production Technician III Tim Ingram graduated from PELA in late November after participating in educational sessions, networking events and training focused on industry awareness and workforce development. PELA participants must be nominated and apply to the 10-month program.
“One of the most important things we do to strengthen our company and support our employees is to find ways to develop their skill sets and hone their professional capabilities,” said SGI President Justin P. Dunlap. “In seeking opportunities such as the Emerging Leaders Academy, we are making SGI more competitive in the industry and priming today’s high achievers to be the leaders of tomorrow.”
Ingram is the third SGI employee to graduate from PELA since the program’s inaugural session in 2021. A graduate of Waynesboro Area Senior High School, Ingram joined SGI as a laborer in 2019.
