CASCADE, MD – The Fort Ritchie Community Center is preparing for the holiday season with a variety of activities and events for all ages. From Giving Tuesday to Winter Camp, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
Giving Tuesday On Tuesday, November 28, people around the world will come together to celebrate Giving Tuesday. This day is an opportunity to make a difference in your community by supporting the Fort Ritchie Community Center. Your contributions will help us provide low-cost youth and senior programs, free community events, access to health and wellness programs, and more! Make a difference today!
Community Tree Lighting Join Ritchie Revival in starting the holiday season by lighting up the tree across from the Greenhouse Cafe on Fort Ritchie! The tree lighting will take place on Saturday, December 2, at 5:30 PM.
Fitness Bingo Get ready to have some fun and get fit with our Fitness Bingo! For $15, you can get unlimited classes in December and play BINGO for a chance to win $50! Get bingo by participating in fitness classes, using equipment in the fitness center, and more! Purchase your Bingo cards at the front desk. The winner will be announced on January 2.
Holiday Craft Bazaar Find the perfect gifts for everyone on your list at our Holiday Craft Bazaar! The bazaar will take place on Saturday, December 9, from 9 AM to 3 PM. There will be more than 60 vendor spaces showcasing unique items from home decor to holiday gifts to homemade candles, to foods, children’s toys, and more! Concessions will be available to purchase in support of programs at the Community Center.
Breakfast with Santa Santa Claus is coming to the Fort Ritchie Community Center for breakfast! Breakfast is free for anyone 12 years of age and younger; and $5 for anyone over 13 years of age. Seating is limited; tickets are required. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Purchase your tickets today!
Red Cross Blood Drive Make a difference with your blood donation and save lives! The Red Cross Blood Drive will take place at the Fort Ritchie Community Center on December 21, from 1 PM to 6 PM. Winter Camp Need somewhere for your kids to get their energy out during their holiday break? Sign up for our Winter Camp, which is designed for children between the ages of 6–13. Free Blood Pressure & Diabetes Screenings Meritus Health is at the Community Center for free blood pressure and diabetes screenings. Anyone is welcome to stop in and get screened!
Kids Club Children between the ages of 6 – 13 are welcome to participate in Kids Club to create fun crafts, play sports and games, and more each week! The cost to attend Kids Club is $3 per child. Pre-registration is encouraged to attend Kids Club. Join our Kids Club email list and receive weekly registration links and information on the week’s theme.
Teen Night Tuesday evenings are dedicated to our teens 13-18 year-olds who want to hang out with friends, play games, and burn some energy. Pre-registration is encouraged, but not required to attend. Pre-register today!
Tabitha’s Table Food Pantry Tabitha’s Table, located in Smithsburg, MD, provides Washington County residents with food items from their pantry on the first and fourth Tuesday of each month from 11 AM until the food items are gone. Please stop by to learn how Tabitha’s Table assists those in need in our community.
Chair Massage Treat yourself to a mobile chair massage on the last Wednesday of the month from 9 AM – 3 PM! Pay by the minute for a 10, 15, or 20-minute chair massage with Miranda Tyler, massage therapist. Appointments are by walk-in only. All clients must sign a liability form before receiving service.
