WAYNESBORO- Heather Blount, Intervention Specialist at Hooverville Elementary, has been honored with the 2023 Outstanding Teacher Award sponsored by the Shippensburg University Superintendent Study Council. The award recognizes exemplary educators who have made significant contributions to the region’s students and schools.
Heather was celebrated at the Outstanding Teacher Award Luncheon on Wednesday, Nov. 15 at Shippensburg University. Dianne Eberhardt, Hooverville Principal, praised Heather’s leadership and her role in the school and community. Heather is known for her expertise in the Science of Reading and data interpretation, and she actively contributes to various district-level committees. She has also initiated The Hornet Home Connection, a series of monthly workshops aimed at enhancing parent and family engagement at Hooverville Elementary.
In addition to this recognition, Heather has received a donation to implement the “1 book 1 school” program for Hooverville families, further demonstrating her commitment to education and community engagement.
Heather’s dedication and innovative approaches have made her an invaluable asset to the Waynesboro Area School District, and her impact on the school and community is widely respected.
