WAYNESBORO- On a crisp Friday evening, Nov. 17, the town of Waynesboro gathered for their annual tree lighting ceremony, a joyous kick-off to the holiday season. The air crackled with anticipation as the square in downtown Waynesboro transformed into a winter wonderland, adorned with twinkling lights and festive decorations.
DJ Tiny Michaels from Wayz 104.7 set the mood with cheerful holiday tunes, his energetic voice guiding the crowd through a range of classic carols and contemporary favorites. Families and friends huddled together, their faces aglow with the warm light from the surrounding illuminations.
As the clock struck 7 p.m., the moment everyone had been waiting for arrived. With a collective gasp of excitement, the dazzling Christmas tree burst into life, its branches adorned with thousands of sparkling lights. A cheer erupted from the crowd, their voices echoing through the crisp night air.
The festivities continued with a delightful array of family-friendly activities. Children gleefully lined up for free candy, oranges, hot cocoa, cookies, and treats, their laughter filling the square with infectious joy.
