AHS Featured Pet of the Week: Mama Marmalade

WAYNESBORO–The Antietam Humane Society offers cats, dogs and a variety of animals up for adoption to loving homes. For more information on providing a forever home, visit the shelter at 8513 Lyons Road, visit their website or call them at 717-762-9091.

Meet our pint-sized Pet of the Week, Mama Marmalade!

This sweet girl came to us pregnant in April 2023 and spent time in a foster home while she raised her kittens. While all of her kittens have found homes, Mama Marmalade is still looking for a place to call her own!

Mama Marmalade is as easy-going as they come and loves nothing more than cuddling up or taking a nap on a comfy bed. In fact, when she is not getting an ear rub or a butt scratch you will most likely find Marmalade snoozing!

Two-year old Marmalade still has plenty of personality to go around and loves to follow staff and volunteers looking for treats or something good to munch on. Mama Marmalade is not very talkative but will purr up a storm when she is getting pets!

This petite girl is FIV(Feline immunodeficiency virus)+ but is able to live a long, happy life like any other kitty! Mama Marmalade would not mind a kitty friend in her forever home as long as they are calm like she is. She does enjoy her personal space but will not pick a fight and prefers to find a cozy place if she is getting annoyed by other cats. Cats with FIV are more than capable of living with other felines, FIV+ or not, as long as there is no severe fighting between cats. Marmalade has also done well with children and does not mind being held and carried around! She was in a foster home with dogs but we have yet to seen how Mama Marmalade does with dogs while at the shelter.

If you are looking to add a lazy kitty to your home then stop by to visit with Mama Marmalade!
