HAGERSTOWN, Md. —Meritus Medical Centerearned an “A” Hospital Safety Gradefrom The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit watchdog that sets standards for excellence in patient care. Leapfrog assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country based on over 30 national performance measures reflecting errors, accidents, injuries and infections, as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent harm.
“Our dedicated teams live our mission of ‘Improving the Health of our Community’ each and every day,” said Meritus Health President and CEO Maulik Joshi, Dr. P.H. “It is so important that our neighbors have access not only to the care they need, but high quality care, where their safety is a top priority. I’m so proud that Meritus Medical Center has again earned its second consecutive ‘A’rating, placing our care in the top of hospitals in the state and in the country.”
