Meet Kaya, this week’s Pet of the Week!
Kaya came to us as a stray in August 2023 as a stray and is still looking for her forever home! This sweet girl has barely had any interest and we cannot understand why!
Kaya loves attention and everyone she meets! Kaya is as affectionate as they come and enjoys nothing more than snuggling up close to someone and getting all the attention she can. Playing fetch is a close second in the list of her favorite things to do!
If you have a tennis ball or a squeaky toy Kaya will play and play to her heart’s content! This girl is very play/toy motivated and prefers playing over treats. That doesn’t mean she is not a fan of snacks! Kaya has done very well relaxing with a kong toy filled with treats or even peanut butter.
Kaya currently knows sit and down and is looking forward to learning more in her forever home!
While she absolutely adores human attention, Kaya would like to be the only furry companion in her forever home. She has not done well with dogs or cats and would do best as the only animal. Kaya has done well with children but sometimes forgets that she is a larger dog! She will try to sit in your lap or hop up to give hugs or even smush herself as close as possible to get kisses and butt scratches. Children who are not use to rambunctious, larger dogs may not be a good fit for Kaya.
Kaya would be a good fit for a home looking for an energetic dog to take out on adventures with them! She absolutely loves going out on walks, playing in the yard and generally spending her time outside. She would make a great hiking or walking buddy for an active household. Kaya does well settling down after she has all that energy out and is happy to curl up with a toy and take a snooze.
