CHAMBERSBURG- Wilson College’s Single Parent Scholar Program is providing a unique opportunity for single parents to pursue higher education while raising their children. The program, which has been in place since 1869, is an expression of the college’s mission to provide a collaborative, student-focused environment for its student.

The Single Parent Scholar Program offers on-campus housing year-round to single parents and their children between the ages of 20 months and 10 years old, allowing the parent to pursue a bachelor’s degree full-time. The program accommodates up to 26 families and provides family-friendly housing that allows parents to be full participants in campus life, including student government, athletics, clubs, and organizations.

The program also offers enrichment and development activities for parents and their children, providing a supportive environment for families to thrive. By providing access to higher education, the Single Parent Scholar Program is opening doors to a more fulfilling, economically self-sufficient life for single parents and their children.

Wilson College’s culture of individualized education is reflected in the Single Parent Scholar Program, which addresses the needs of single parents today and provides a unique opportunity for them to pursue their dreams while raising their children.
