WAYNESBORO — The Waynesboro Area School District announced a staggered start for kindergarten students for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year. The district said the staggered start will help ease the transition to kindergarten for students and families.
According to the district, kindergarten students with last names beginning with A through L will attend school on Wednesday, Aug. 23, while students with last names beginning with M through Z will attend on Thursday, Aug. 24. All kindergarten students will attend school on Friday, Aug. 25.
The district said the staggered start will allow teachers to get to know their students better, assess their skills and needs, and provide more individualized attention. The district also said the staggered start will help students adjust to the new routines and expectations of kindergarten.
