WAYNESBORO — If you have a passion for brewing your own beer, or just enjoy tasting new flavors, you won’t want to miss the first Homebrew Competition and Festival hosted by Rough Edges Brewing on July 22.
The event will take place at Main Street Park from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and will feature free samples of homebrewed beers from local enthusiasts, as well as food from Fat Russ BBQ, live music by Brad Munn and an awards presentation.
The competition is open to anyone who wants to showcase their brewing skills and creativity. The grand prize is a chance to have your beer brewed professionally at Rough Edges Brewing, a local craft brewery that opened in 2021.
To enter the competition, you need to register by e-mailing [email protected] as soon as possible and submit your entries by July 15. You will receive a full list of rules and regulations upon registration. You are also expected to bring all of your entries to the park for a public sampling on July 22.
This is not a BJCP sanctioned event, so there are no strict guidelines on style or ingredients. The judges will be looking for originality, quality and drinkability of the beers.
The event is free and open to the public to support local homebrewers and enjoy a fun afternoon of beer, food and music.
