The Pet of the week is Mia !
This happy-go-lucky pup came to us in June 2023 after being transferred to us from another rescue where she had come in with 10 puppies. Mia has not had an easy start to her life, and staff would love for this affectionate girl to find a home to call her own!
Mia can be shy when meeting new people, but is slowly learning strangers are not a bad thing, and that more people means more affection! Mia loves to cuddle and will happily sit by you or in your lap to get ear scratches and belly rubs. She is an absolute love-bug and is content to nap after she has gone for a walk or gotten to run around in the yard.
Mia has been selective with the dogs she befriends here at the shelter and would do better than an equally easy-going pup. When cat-tested, Mia was afraid of the cats and will need a slow introduction to any feline friends. Mia has done well with children, but does like to hop up to say hello. She may be better suited with young children who are used to large dogs or older kids.
Mia enjoys stuffed and squeaky toys but tends to enjoy playing by herself. She is not a big fan of fetch or tug, but likes to lay and chew on her toys while she is relaxing. She enjoys going for walks and loves soft treats! If you are looking for an absolute heart-stealer, Mia and her sweet hugs is the girl for you!
