WAYNESBORO- Jaylon Bean, a senior at Waynesboro High School, has been awarded a $1000.00 scholarship from the Waynesboro Tigers organization in memory of Donald Wolfe. Bean, who participated in football for three years, received a varsity letter each year. His senior football awards include scholar athlete of the team, offensive MVP, and Honorable Mention (punting) in the Mid-Penn Conference.
Bean has been an outstanding athlete at Waynesboro High School, also excelling in basketball. In January 2023, he poured in a game-high 33 points to pace the Waynesboro boys basketball team past Gettysburg, 69-44, in a Mid-Penn Conference Colonial Division game.
Bean plans to attend Robert Morris University in the fall, where he will continue his football career.
The scholarship awarded to Bean is in memory of Donald Wolfe, a former Waynesboro High School football coach who passed away in 2019. Wolfe was a beloved member of the Waynesboro community and is remembered for his dedication to his players and his passion for the game of football.
The Waynesboro Tigers organization, which awards the scholarship in Wolfe’s memory, is a non-profit organization that supports Waynesboro High School athletics. The organization is dedicated to promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and leadership among student-athletes.
Bean’s achievements on the field and in the classroom make him a deserving recipient of the scholarship in memory of Donald Wolfe. His dedication to his sport and his community is a testament to the values that Wolfe stood for.
Congratulations to Jaylon Bean on his scholarship and his future endeavors at Robert Morris University.
