WAYNESBORO – The Church of the Apostles, United Church of Christ, has announced the appointment of the Rev. Robert Macfarlane as interim minister following the recent retirement of Narda Druckenmiller. Known as “Pastor Bob,” Macfarlane is a retired minister living in Chambersburg and a trained specialist in the United Church of Christ, helping congregations transition from one pastor to the next.
Sunday worship at the church, located at 336 Barnett Ave in Waynesboro, will be held at 10 a.m. all summer long under the church’s brand new outdoor pavilion. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
In addition to his pastoral duties, Macfarlane is also a Civil War amateur historian. This coming Sunday, July 2nd, the public is warmly invited to commemorate the 160th Anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg, as Pastor Bob presents “A Visit from General Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain,” Commander of the 20th Maine Regiment, and hero of Little Round Top, in full Union uniform.
