WAYNESBORO – The Washington Township Municipal Complex held a grand opening with a ribbon cutting on Thursday, June 15, to celebrate its move to a new building located at 11798 Buchanan Trail E. in Waynesboro.

The open house began at 10 a.m. and festivities started in the back of the new building at 10:30 a.m. Over 50 people were present for remarks and the ribbon cutting. Geesaman opened and MCed the event, while Mastriano, Schemel, Flannery, and McCleaf delivered brief remarks. 102-year-old former County Commissioner and Chambersburg Mayor Sam Worley was recognized. After comments, attendees moved to the front of the building for the ribbon cutting, and after that, all moved inside for tours and to share refreshments.

Over the course of the day, well over 100 people visited, toured, and snacked. Tours were divided into two parts. The administrative side was generally open for visitors to roam as they pleased, though some took advantage of supervisors and staff who took small groups through and offered comments. Due to regulations, visitors needed to sign in and be guided through the police area. The open house ended at 4 p.m.
