WashCo admin to retire

HAGERSTOWN, MD – The Board of County Commissioners of Washington County has announced that County Administrator, John M. Martirano, Esquire has decided to retire from the County’s employ to pursue other business opportunities. 

According to the board, Martirano has provided exceptional and dedicated service to the county for nearly 25 years, initially as County Attorney, then as Counsel to the Washington County Board of Education and most recently as County Administrator. John Barr, President of the Board of County Commissioners spoke on behalf of the Board and said that, “the County very much appreciates the work John Martirano has performed for the County over his many years of service. He has always worked diligently in the best interest of the citizens of this County and is well respected and liked by the leadership and his peers. Everyone in the County government wishes John nothing but the best in his future pursuits.”
