WAYNESBORO- WellSpan Waynesboro Hospital President Melissa Dubrow gave updates on the health system during a recent Chamber of Commerce Mixer.

Dubrow said a new MRI is being installed at the hospital.

“The new fixed machine is bigger and faster and does not require the patient to be oriented so we can avoid taking patients elsewhere, keeping them here for treatment,” she said. “And with shorter scan times, we can do more appointments.”

She also commented on another big investment to expand their pharmacy capability.

In addition, she mentioned they broke ground last December on a new facility near the Penn National Golf Course and expect it to be completed in early next year. “The new facility will house WellSpan Family Medical Practice including primary care, laboratory, and rehabilitation services,” she said.

Dubrow went on to say all of these investments are part of WellSpan’s commitment to providing high quality care in Waynesboro. WellSpan Waynesboro Hospital received an “A” safety rating from the Leapfrog Group, one of the toughest ratings to achieve, and they were one of four “A” grades awarded to WellSpan Hospitals.
