CHAMBERSBURG—The Chambersburg Area School District has hired Shawn Kimple as its new athletic director.
Kimple was approved by the CASD school board directors at the April 11 Regular Board Meeting and will serve as athletic director starting July 1. He replaces Ron Coursey, who resigned in February.
Kimple has spent his entire educational career at various schools within the district, including Guilford Hills Elementary, South Hamilton Elementary and CAMS South.
For the past 10 years, he served as principal of Ben Chambers Elementary School. In total, Kimple has 21 years of experience in education and has shown a deep commitment to the district’s students and athletes.
He is excited for the opportunity to take on this new challenge as athletic director and build upon the district’s already successful athletic programs.
“My vision is to build an athletic department that makes our entire district proud,” Kimple said. “I want all our teams to experience success inside and outside competition, and for our athletes to grow into confident, motivated, respectful young adults equipped with the skills to be successful post high school. I am excited to work with coaches, students, teachers, and our community to continue to grow and strengthen our athletic programs.”
As athletic director for CASD, Kimple brings his extensive coaching experience and expertise. Kimple has served as a head coach for Chambersburg Area High School football, Fayetteville Browns youth football, Chambersburg youth wrestling, youth soccer and more.
In addition, Kimple has a Master of Science in Athletic Administration from McDaniel College. The Chambersburg Area School District is confident that Mr. Kimple’s experience and passion for education and athletics will make him an excellent addition to the district’s leadership team.
