CHAMBERSBURG–The Franklin County Commissioners, along with the Franklin County Office of Veterans Affairs, have announced plans for the seventh annual Franklin County Veterans Affairs Golf Tournament, set for Sept. 1 at Penn National Golf Club in Fayetteville.
“Franklin County takes great pride in supporting the men and women who have served this country,” said Franklin County Commissioner Dave Keller. “We continue to be incredibly thankful for and awed by the support this event sees each year, which in turn enables the county to further care for our veterans.”
Registration for the tournament will begin at 7 a.m. with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Lunch and an awards presentation will conclude the day.
Golfers will have the opportunity to play their preferred course, based on availability. The tournament will feature two winning teams – one from Founders and one from Iron Forge. Each member of those winning teams will receive a voucher for a five-day, four-night cruise for two. Additional prizes will be awarded for the tournament’s top male and female performers.
Registration is $500 per foursome, which includes greens fees, carts, a light breakfast, lunch, on-course refreshments, a door prize ticket and an appreciation gift for each golfer. The tournament will also include in-game contests, raffles, networking opportunities and more.
All proceeds from the golf tournament benefit the Franklin County Veterans Affairs Outreach Fund, which supports a variety of programs, including Operation Save-a-Vet Save-a-Pet, Operation Rucks to Reins and the annual We Salute You Scholarship. The 2022 tournament featured an event-high 256 participants and raised a record $34,475.
