Enjoy winter. Chambersburg’s IceFest is underway through Sunday, Jan. 29. Check out the sculptures, vendors and fun throughout downtown Chambersburg. Most activities are free.

Grab some light reading material. Surfin’ Cow Comis will host a grand reopening Saturday, Jan. 28, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at its new store at 1637 E. Main, next to Burger King.

Swap out your clothes. A free clothing swap will be held Saturday, Jan. 28, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at The Cupcake Gypsy. The free event is run by Allison’s Alterations and Audrey Rouzer Portraits. Money donated will go to local charities and all remaining items left from the swap will be donated to local charities.

Take a hike. The Institute invites area families on a free, guided winter hike along the Appalachian Trail on Sunday, Jan. 29, from 1 to 3 p.m. Led by an Institute naturalist, hikers will explore some of the wonders to be found in the woods and along the byways. The activity is geared for families with children age 10 and older. The event is free but pre-registration is required.

Do a pajama party. Warehouse Cinemas in Leitersburg will host a Pajamas and Popcorn party Sunday, Jan. 29, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Dress in your best pjs and cozy up in a heated recliner with a warm bag of free popcorn for a showing of “Indiana Jones & The Raiders of the Lost Ark” and “The Land Before Time”. Tickets are $5 and available online or at the door.
