The Waynesboro Hospital Auxiliary has scholarships available for high school seniors, employees of WellSpan Waynesboro Hospital enrolled in a nursing curriculum, and students enrolled in an accredited program leading to a certificate or certification as a phlebotomist, medical lab technician, or medical technologist.
The Health Career Scholarship is for high school seniors. It assists graduating seniors in the Waynesboro Area and Greencastle-Antrim school districts (including those that are home-schooled and students enrolled at Franklin County Career and Technology Center) and those involved with the Student Volunteer program at WellSpan Waynesboro Hospital during their high school years (not living in the above school districts) with the intent of pursuing a career in the health career field. The guidance offices of both high schools and the FCCTC will have information and application packets available for interested students. Information can also be found on the websites of all three schools. The scholarship will be paid directly to the recipient’s college/university.
Employees of WellSpan Waynesboro Hospital are eligible to earn the Pearle E. Warren Scholarship. The applicant must be a full- or part-time employee of WellSpan Waynesboro Hospital and must be enrolled in an accredited community college, college, university, or school of nursing following a nursing curriculum. The scholarship will be paid directly to the recipient’s college/university.
The Laboratory Memorial Scholarship is for any student already enrolled in a program at any two- or four-year college seeking a certificate as a phlebotomist, medical lab technician, or medical technologist. The scholarship award may be used for: tuition, textbooks, lab fees, child-care, and/or travel expenses to and from the college.
Applications are due in the volunteer office at WellSpan Waynesboro Hospital by 5 p.m. March 1. Anyone with questions may call Jill Kessler at 717-729-8887 or Sherry Newcomer at 717-762-9781.
