WAYNESBORO–This year’s Christmas tree arrived in downtown Waynesboro on Monday.

The Norway spruce was donated by Anna Vitale and taken down by Long’s Tree Service and transported to the square by D.L. George with a police escort by Waynesboro and Washington Township police.

The annual tree-lighting service will be held Friday, Nov. 18, from 5 to 8 p.m. on the square. The event begins with music, hot chocolate, food and the holiday market from 4:30-8 p.m. The tree lighting ceremony will begin at 7 p.m. Free horse-drawn sleigh rides from 5 to 7:45 p.m.
