WCCA 85th Season opens with Side Street Strutters

WAYNESBORO- The Waynesboro Community Concert Association will present The Side Street Strutters at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 18, in the Oller Auditorium at the Waynesboro Area Senior High School. This is the first concert of the 2022-23 season.

To celebrate the beginning of the 85th season, everyone attending will be able to enjoy a scoop of Antietam Dairy ice cream in the parking lot before the show, beginning at 1:30 p.m.

This is also WCCA’s Military Appreciation concert. Area active and retired military members and their families may attend the show for free.

The Side Street Strutters celebrate their 40th anniversary with their hit show Swingin’ and Singin’. Featuring the very best of classic American Jazz, the Strutters, with Mel Collins, invite audiences to enjoy a potpourri of jazz, pop and R&B melodies that have shaped our musical landscape. Audiences can expect to hear songs that inspired entire generations, lyrics that reflected a particular time in our country’s history, and melodies that played a significant role towards the development and enjoyment of American popular music.

Season tickets can be purchased the day of the concert, for $50, which includes all six WCCA 22-23 season concerts, plus nine reciprocal concerts at Gettysburg and Hagerstown.

Individual concert tickets at the door: Adults: $25, Students and children are free.
