CHAMBERSBURG—Charges have been filed against a corrections officer at the Franklin County Jail and a woman after an investigation into contraband smuggling at the jail.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, in March, officers began an investigation into the smuggling of illicit contraband at the jail.

During the course of the investigation, it was determined that Alando Ronaldo Wallace, 23, of Chambersburg, who was employed as a corrections officer at the jail, had on numerous occasions smuggled contraband into the secured facility and provide it to inmates in exchange for money.

According to PSP, the money was exchanged with Abigail Leann Price, 20, also of Chambersburg, who is the paramour of Wallace so that Wallace could purchase and then provide the items to inmates.

Wallace faces felony and misdemeanor charges relating to contraband/controlled substances and criminal use of communication facility. He has posted $10,000 bail.

Price faces felony and misdemeanor charges relating to criminal use of communication facility and conspiracy of contraband/controlled substances. She also posted $10,000 bail.

Both are awaiting preliminary hearings May 10 before Magisterial District Judge Kristin Nicklas.
