WCCA Announces 2022-2023 season

WAYNESBORO—The Waynesboro Community Concert Association kicks off the subscription campaign for its 85th season, “Onward and Upward!: Celebrating 85 years of bringing quality musical entertainment to Waynesboro”.

This season offers six unique concerts. Subscriptions remain at $50 for the season and include reciprocal concerts hosted by Gettysburg and Hagerstown community concert associations.

All concerts are held on Sunday afternoons at 3 p.m. in the Waynesboro Area Senior High School Oyer Auditorium on East Second Street. Masks are optional.

The following concerts are offered for the 2022-2023 season:

Sept. 18, 2022: Side Street Strutters – swinging nostagic band with female vocalist

Oct. 16, 2022: Jim McDonough, pianist

Nov. 6. 2022: Hooray for Hollywood – Empire Trio, female vocalist with piano and violin

Nov. 20, 2022: Generations Big Band (formerly Gettysburg Big Band) – a variety of big band songs and Christmas songs

April 23, 2023: Chester Gregory – tribute to Jackie Wilson and the artists he influenced

May 7, 2023: Through the Years -salute to Kenny Rogers with Don Gatlin and the original Kenny Rogers band.

The remaining concerts for 2022 are:

April 3, Trio Pacheco siblings team up for a program of beautiful love songs from the world of opera and musical theater. (This is also WCCA’s First Responder and Teacher Appreciation concert to which they are invited to attend as guests.)

May 1, Peacherine Ragtime Society Orchestra, the premier American ragtime and silent movies ensemble.

New subscribers will also receive tickets for the remaining two concerts of the current season.

Subscriptions and individual concert tickets ($25) are available online at www.waynesboropaconcerts.org or at the door at every concert. Students from kindergarten through high school are invited to attend free of charge. Those in K-8th grade must be accompanied by an adult.

WCCA awards a Joseph Bowers Scholarship each spring to a graduating WASH student who will pursue further music study in college.
