WAYNESBORO–The Buchanan Trail Quilters met recently. Social time was followed by a brief business meeting.
Nancy Heishman was introduced as the new treasurer and blocks for the President’s Quilt were discussed.
Plans for a sewing day on April 9 to make adult bibs and walker bags for assisted living facilities were announced.
Vice-President Deb Herrald introduced our speaker, local quilter and seamstress Karen Manderson.
One of Karen’s quilts won the Viewers’ Choice award at the Chambersburg Quilt Show in 2015. She presented an interesting program with creative ways to use fabric pieces from your stash such as piecing backs from leftover fabrics and using extra bindings for other colorful bindings and borders.
Members were reminded that the next meeting would be held on Thursday, April 7, at 6 p.m. at Evangelical Lutheran Church of Waynesboro, 43 S. Church St., because of Easter services at the church. New members are welcome.
