WAYNESBORO—1884 Market House will host an Antique Appraisal Day Saturday, Jan. 22.

The antiques, artisans and central market will host two area appraisers who will evaluate items.

Ron Hamner, owner/auctioneer/appraiser of Smithsburg Country Market and a graduate of the Mendenhall School of Auctioneering, specializes in general small antiques and collectibles, pre–1985 sports cards and memorabilia, vintage/antique toys, coins, pop culture items, advertising and local items.

Bob Ford has been collecting and dealing in antiques for more than two decades. His specialties include coins, damaged/undamaged gold and silver, general small antiques, banks and country store advertising.

The public is invited to bring in up to three items for appraisal. For large items, bring in detailed photos.

The event will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the market, 15 Schier’s Way. A minimum $5 donation is requested and all proceeds will go the Antietam Humane Society.
