STROUDSBURG – Looking for something different to see and do this season? Head north to The Poconos.
For the fourth straight year, the popular Snowmen of Stroudsburg will hit Main Street and beyond from Nov. 26–Feb. 26, 2022.
Hand-painted and decorated by local artists in different themes and designs, 39 life-size snowmen sculptures will be spread throughout downtown Stroudsburg and relocated several times throughout the season.
In addition to the 29 snowmen from past years, 10 new snowmen are making their debut. The Snowmen of Stroudsburg were developed by Go Collaborative, a non-profit dedicated to brainstorming how businesses and artists can partner for the community’s benefit.
The public can vote online for their favorite snowman or simply scan the QR code located on each snowman’s signage. Based on the results, the winning artists will be awarded cash prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. One vote per person. Those who take selfies with their favorite snowmen are also eligible for prizes (while supplies last) including a free Snowmen of Stroudsburg poster or t-shirt.
“This project brings locals and visitors together while showcasing everything downtown Stroudsburg has to offer during a beautiful time of year,” said Go Collaborative President Jim Evanisko. “It is a marvelous feeling that the talented artists, smart merchants, residents, and houses of worship understand that the Snowmen of Stroudsburg have rejuvenated Stroudsburg into the 21st century for everyone near and far.”
Maps showing where each snowman is located can be downloaded online or are available at participating merchants and houses of worship. Many businesses will be offering specials or giveaways in conjunction with the Snowmen of Stroudsburg.
Additional security cameras have been installed in the areas where snowmen are located to deter vandalism.
