To say it was a dominant 2025 season for Fairfield’s youth football program would be an understatement.
Led by a Pony squad that went 12-0 and outscored opponents 432-57 on its way to a Capital Football Association Youth Football League Liberty Conference Super Bowl, the Knights were successful at all levels last fall. Fairfield’s Peewee (7-4) and Midget (9-2) squads both had deep postseason runs that ended one victory shy of a berth in the Super Bowl.
It was a great year for Fairfield football, and the Knights should be coming into this season with an abundance of momentum and confidence. Duplicating the success of last fall, however, will be easier said than done as Fairfield makes the jump from the third-tier Liberty Conference to the second-tier Federal Conference.
Another local Federal Conference program, the Waynesboro Stallions, will be aiming to take the next step after experiencing some success last season. The Stallions are building off an 8-3 campaign at the Pony level, while the Midgets (5-5) and Peewees (3-7) are also determined to improve.
Greencastle-Antrim returns for its second season in the CFA since its departure from the now-defunct Keystone Youth Football & Cheerleading League. The Blue Devils will once again play in the Liberty Conference.
Chambersburg is expected to march out six teams this fall, three of which will play in the top-tier National Conference, with the other three set to compete in the Liberty.
The Washington County Junior Football League includes five teams from Hagerstown, while the Shippensburg Midget Football League includes the Quincy Panthers and the Hub City Steelers.
The Fayetteville Browns and Hagerstown-based MD Giants will also field squads this season.
