HAGERSTOWN, Md. — The Western Maryland Blues Festival returned to Hagerstown on June 6-7 after an eight-year hiatus, bringing two days of live music to Hub City Brewery.
Eric Gales and George Porter Jr. headlined the festival, which featured performances on indoor and outdoor stages throughout the weekend. Other performers included the Kelly Bell Band, Jonathan Sloane, Rays of Violet, Soul Cellar and Con Amina.
The festival opened Saturday with Jimmy Noodles and concluded with an afterparty performance by the Natalie Brooke Band. Although rain interrupted outdoor activities for several hours Saturday evening, performances continued on the indoor stage, and the outdoor stage reopened after the storm passed.
Sunday’s schedule began with the Fast Eddie Duo and concluded with an afterparty performance by Rays of Violet.
Community support helped make the festival possible, with more than a dozen vendors participating and local sponsors contributing to the event. Sponsors included Manning Media, the Hagerstown Flying Box Cars, Maryland Winehouse and Quad State Festivals.
