WellSpan Waynesboro Hospital Earns 2025 Outstanding Patient Experience Award

WellSpan Evangelical Community Hospital and WellSpan Waynesboro Hospital have been recognized as 2025 Outstanding Patient Experience Award recipients in a recent Healthgrades ranking. This distinction places the hospitals in the top 15% of hospitals nationwide for patient experience.

WellSpan Evangelical Community Hospital has received the award for six years in a row and has been among the top 10% of hospitals in the country each year since 2020.

“This recognition is validation of the positive impact and difference that each of our team members makes for our patients and their loved ones,” said Dr. Michael Seim, senior vice president and chief quality officer, WellSpan Health. “Our team members understand that there are so many opportunities throughout a patient’s stay with us to demonstrate our human compassion and empathy in addition to our clinical expertise and it shines through in every patient interaction.”

The award exemplifies WellSpan’s commitment to create a personalized care experience for each patient. The health system has been intentional about designing health care around the individual, meeting their needs and busy life with options when and where it fits their schedule.

As part of its annual analysis, Healthgrades evaluated more than 3,000 hospitals that submitted at least 100 Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems surveys, covering admissions from January to December 2023.

To determine the recipients of the Outstanding Patient Experience Award, Healthgrades applies a scoring methodology to 10 patient experience measures. These measures focus on patients’ perceptions of their hospital care, including staff communication, medication explanations and cleanliness. The Outstanding Patient Experience Award is the direct result of positive patient feedback in these critical areas.
