WAYNESBORO – The Civil Service Commission of the Borough of Waynesboro will be holding examinations for the position of police officer, offering $15,000 sign-on bonuses to those who have completed the 919-hour basic police training and certification.
The starting pay is up to $67,579, again, for those who have completed that certification. The physical fitness testing is scheduled for Saturday, May 10. The written examination for will be given on Thursday, May 15, at 6:30 p.m., at Borough Hall, 55 E. Main St. The oral portion of the examination is to be determined.
Those interested may obtain an application packet at the Borough Hall during regular business hours, from 8 a.m., to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. TBD. Veterans who qualify shall be given additional credits and preference. The Borough will reimburse up to $1,000 in moving expenses as well.
