GREENCASTLE, Pa. — Wawa will open a new store in Greencastle on Friday, Oct. 2, with giveaways, free coffee and a grand-opening ceremony planned for the first morning of business.
The store, located at 797 Buchanan Trail East, is scheduled to open at 8 a.m.
The first 100 customers will receive limited-edition “Wawa Grand Opening Tour in the USA” T-shirts while supplies last, according to the company. Wawa also will offer free hot coffee in any size from opening day through Sunday, Oct. 4.
A grand-opening ceremony is set for 8:30 a.m. Company representatives, state and local officials and store employees are expected to participate in the event, which will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The celebration also will feature Wawa’s “Hoagies for Heroes” contest, in which local police officers and firefighters will compete to see which team can build hoagies the fastest. Music, confetti and an appearance by Wally Goose, Wawa’s mascot, are also planned.
The Greencastle store is the 67th Wawa location the company has opened as part of a broader plan to debut nearly 100 stores in 2026, according to Wawa.
The company said its 2026 grand-opening tour will visit communities in 14 states across the Mid-Atlantic, Southeast and Midwest.
Wawa said it invests more than $7.5 million to build each store and works with an average of 140 contractors and local partners during construction. A typical Wawa store employs about 35 workers after opening.
