SHIPPENSBURG – In light of Veteran’s Day on Tuesday, Nov. 11, the Shippensburg Veterans Council held the annual Veteran’s Day Parade. As locals lined the streets, the vibrations of Shippensburg Area Senior High School and Middle School marching bands rippled through the air. Over a dozen participants lined up on North King Street near Gettle Avenue and paraded west through downtown Shippensburg.

Several veterans and veterans groups participated, including the Veteran’s Council and Shippensburg Rehab Veterans. The parade also featured appearances from local royalty such as the Shippensburg Fair Little Miss, Queen, Sweetheart and Little Miss Princess.

Other notable appearances included Shippensburg University ROTC, the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, Wreaths Across America, Franklin County Jeepers and the Spinning Illusions Marching Group.

Closing out the parade with a final event, a myriad of Motorcycles from the American Legion Post 223 Riders revved their engines as they passed.
