HAGERSTOWN – Blues legend Tinsley Ellis will bring his acclaimed acoustic sound to Hagerstown next month, performing live at Hub City Vinyl on Feb. 13 to celebrate the release of his new Alligator Records album, Labor of Love.
The Atlanta-based guitarist, vocalist and songwriter’s performance begins at 8 p.m. Tickets are $24 and available at www.liveathubcityvinyl.com.
“Labor of Love,” Ellis’ first all-original acoustic album, arrives Jan. 30 and features 13 new songs written and produced by the longtime bluesman. The record follows his 2024 acoustic release “Naked Truth,” which earned a Blues Music Award nomination.
Known for his raw, rootsy guitar work and soulful vocals, Ellis says performing solo has helped him reconnect with the essence of the blues. “No matter what I play, I like to have an edge,” he said in the album’s announcement. “For me, just playing this music is a labor of love.”
Now celebrating over four decades on the road, Ellis continues his “Two Guitars and a Car” tour—carrying forward the traditions of Muddy Waters, B.B. King and Howlin’ Wolf while making the blues his own.
