WAYNESBORO – Local educators will trade their textbooks for sneakers Monday, Dec. 15, competing in a charity basketball game to benefit the New Hope Homeless Shelter.
The high-energy contest will pit Waynesboro teachers against their counterparts from Greencastle – Antrim. The benefit game, to be held at the Waynesboro Area Senior High School gymnasium, will tip off at 5:30 p.m., inviting a crowd to watch the cross-district rivalry for a good cause.
Admission to the event will be the donation of a winter coat or a canned food item, all of which will be collected to support the New Hope Homeless Shelter. Additionally, all game receipts from the evening will be pledged to the shelter.
The event is designed to serve as a major drive for the organization, bolstering its supplies as the winter season approaches. Organizers emphasize that the initiative is about more than basketball; it is a community effort to assist those in need.
