It’s been quite the fast start to the United Recreational Soccer League season for coach Kyle Unger and the Smithsburg Youth Athletics Lady Leopards.
Competing in the URSL’s 56 Girls White Division, the Lady Leopards survived a tough game last weekend, winning 1-0 over Middletown Pembroke to remain undefeated this fall. Unger’s Leopards, who are outscoring opponents 11-0 this fall, are in sole possession of first place with a 3-0 record.
Waynesboro has a trio of teams — the Maidens (1-0-1), Arsenal (2-0), and Warriors (3-0) — who are undefeated in URSL play, while the Fairfield Knights are also unbeaten in the league at 2-0.
The Chambersburg-based Union Soccer Club is off to a dominating start in the Central Pennsylvania Youth Soccer League. The USC boasts five undefeated girls teams — the U9 Tornadoes (2-0), U10 Cheetahs (1-0), U12 Mambas (3-0), U13 Thunder (2-0), and U14 Eclipse (3-0) — while five boys teams have also yet to taste defeat: The U10 Panthers (2-0), U11 Raiders (3-0), U11 Havoc (3-0), U13 United (1-0-1), and U14 Lightning (2-0).
Greencastle United Soccer Club has a pair of teams off to unbeaten starts: The U12 boys Legends (1-0-1) and the U15 girls Destroyers (3-0).
