CHAMBERSBURG – On Thursday, july 31, Franklin County received and cleared a threat directed at the county Human Services Building, 425 Franklin Farm Lane.
At that time, protective measures were taken to ensure members of county staff and the public were safe, thanks to a collaborative response from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, Pennsylvania State Police, the Pennsylvania Game Commission and the Cumberland County’s Sheriff’s Office.
The area was deemed to be safe, and operations returned to normal. Franklin County authorities believe this was an isolated incident and there is no threat. County officials declined to provide details about the time of the threat or what the protective measures were, but area media reports indicate there were shelter in place orders and significant law enforcement presence.
