There were 27 cars checked in for the Limited Late Models feature at BAPS Motor Speedway on Saturday. None of those rides were running better than the No. 86 car piloted by Scott Palmer.
The Greencastle driver capitalized on a second-starting spot and led all 25 laps on his way to Victory Lane. Palmer’s path to the win, his second of the season, was filled with heavy traffic, but he navigated every challenge with steady driving. St. Thomas’ Dawson finished runner-up behind Palmer, while Mercersburg’s Treyton Lee took fourth. Michael Walls, of St. Thomas, finished in sixth.
Also at BAPS, the East Coast Legends feature saw two locals land Top 5 finishes: Fairfield’s Seth Kearchner (3rd) and Greencastle’s Logan Jones (4th).
One night earlier at Bedford Speedway, two area drivers recorded top finishes. McConnellsburg’s Tom Brady Jr. claimed second in the 4-Cylinders, while Hagerstown’s Chance Hendershot finished fifth in the 360 Winged Sprints.
The World of Outlaws visited Williams Grove Speedway for two nights of racing for the Morgan Cup. The top local driver in attendance was Fayetteville’s Lance Dewease, who battled mechanical “gremlins” all weekend and finished 18th in Friday’s 410 Sprints feature.
Racing was rained out at Path Valley Speedway, while Port Royal, Lincoln, and Hagerstown Speedways all had a scheduled weekend off.
Below is a track-by-track, feature-by-feature look at races from last weekend that included drivers from the Local.News1 coverage area:
