DJ Myers is starting to solve the riddle that is Selinsgrove Speedway.
Overcoming a less-than-ideal starting position in the 20-lap Limited Late Models feature, the Greencastle driver surged to his second win in a row at Selinsgrove on Friday night. Myers, who owns four top-five finishes in five features this season, went from fifth to first in his heat race, before zipping from eighth to Victory Lane in the feature.
For his efforts, Myers earned the Hard Charger Award.
Bedford Speedway was also racing on Friday and three area drivers landed top-10 finishes in the Late Model Sportsman race: St. Thomas’ Keith Walls (4th), Chambersburg’s Gunnar Walls (5th), and Greencastle’s Brandon Bard (6th).
Mother Nature washed away Saturday racing at Path Valley, Lincoln, Grandview and Port Royal speedways, before the sun returned on Sunday at BAPS Motor Speedway for Keystone Nationals.
Lance Dewease, a National Sprint Car Hall of Famer, was in attendance for the 410 Sprints. The “Fayetteville Flyer” won his heat race before securing a third-place finish in the 30-lap feature. It’s been a busy season for Dewease, who’s qualified for 22 features and has posted 15 top-10 finishes, including two wins.
Hagerstown Speedway had a scheduled weekend off from racing.
