Chambersburg’s starting quarterback is back in the lineup and looking better than ever.

Returning from an injury that kept him off the field for weeks, Cam Green tossed five TD passes — with three of those scores going to Jashaun Palmer — to lead Chambersburg to a 33-13 victory over Carlisle in Friday night’s Mid-Penn Commonwealth Division game.

Green completed 14 of 17 passes for 274 yards to star for a Trojans squad that piled up 400 yards of total offense on Homecoming Night. Palmer rolled up six catches for 183 yards, cruising into the end zone on receptions of 57, 26, and 33 yards. Brock Chlebowski and Cam McNew also caught TD passes, while Malachi Tasker guided Chambersburg’s running attack with 29 carries for 102 yards.

The Trojans (2-5, 2-4 Commonwealth) went ahead 20-0 at halftime and held on for victory following a much closer second half with the Thundering Herd (1-6, 1-5).

Chambersburg’s defense held Carlisle to just 104 yards of offense. The Trojans pounced for a fumble recovery and got an interception from Judson Augustin.

Chambersburg will face its biggest challenge of the season on Saturday, when it hits the road to take on Harrisburg (7-0, 6-0), the No. 1-ranked team in District 3-6A. The Cougars are coming off a 61-0 victory over CD East.

Milton Hershey 27, Greencastle-Antrim 19

Using a relentless push in the running game and a swarming defensive effort, Milton Hershey posted a hard-earned win over Greencastle-Antrim in Friday night’s Mid-Penn Colonial Division game.

The Spartans (3-4, 3-1) built a 14-13 halftime lead on the strength of two rushing TDs from Shane Aycox. The Blue Devils (4-3, 2-2) also scored their first-half points on the ground with two TDs from Spencer Long, who plowed into the end zone on runs of one and 44 yards.

Milton Hershey never stopped grinding and eventually wore Greencastle down. The Spartans went ahead 27-13 late in the fourth quarter, before the Blue Devils scored the game’s final points on a 21-yard TD pass from Gavin Logsdon to Iverson Stoner.

Logsdon completed 16 of 24 passes for 158 yards and an interception. Long accounted for 60 rushing yards, while Luke Hull posted 52 receiving yards.

The Blue Devils will be looking to bounce back on Friday, when they travel to take on Trinity (4-3, 3-1), a team coming off a 38-0 win over Boiling Springs.

Hershey 35, Waynesboro 7

Harrison Farmen erupted for 152 rushing yards and three TDs to guide Hershey to a win over Waynesboro in Friday night’s Mid-Penn Keystone Division contest.

The Indians (0-7, 0-6) scored the game’s opening points on a two-yard fumble return TD from Rian Stull, but Farmen and Co. responded with 300 yards of total offense and 35 unanswered points to bury their Franklin County opponents.

The Trojans (6-1, 5-1) moved to second place in the division.

Waynesboro will be aiming to bounce back on Friday, when it plays host to Red Land (3-4, 2-4), a squad coming off a 49-48 win over Gettysburg.

Smithsburg 56, Clear Spring 0

The Leopards demolished Clear Spring to clinch their first winning season since 2015.

The stat book for Smithsburg (6-0) was littered with contributions from all over the lineup. Luke Scott completed 5 of 10 passes for 60 yards and three TDs, with those scores being distributed to Nicolas Roncone (2 catches, 50 yards, 2 TDs) and Marquis Weakfall.

Roncone also carried the ball five times for 69 yards and a TD, while Zach Linn (7 carries, 84 yards), Jack Rawlett (1-19), and Cade Aaron also plowed into the end zone. Noah Hegbe also scored for the Leopards on an 81-yard kickoff return.

Clear Spring (1-5) was hounded by a Smithsburg defense that forced four turnovers. Riley Carr led the attack with seven tackles, while also forcing and recovering a fumble. Jaxon Dodson, Cole Cavell, and Rawlett all picked off passes, while Hegbe contributed two tackles for loss.

If the Leopards can defeat Catoctin on Friday, they will surpass six wins in a season for the first time since 2008. The Cougars (0-6) are coming off a 55-0 loss to Walkersville.

Williamsport 24, North Hagerstown 7

North Hagerstown got 107 rushing yards and a TD from Michael Stewart, but the Hubs ultimately saw their three-game winning streak come to a halt against Williamsport on Friday.

Stewart, who registered 19 carries, piled up 62 of his yards on back-to-back rushes in the first quarter. Those carries, a 59-yard burst followed by a three-yard TD scamper, pulled North into a 7-7 tie with Williamsport.

Outside of that drive, however, the Wildcats (5-1) were largely able to dictate the flow of the game. They held the Hubs scoreless for the final three quarters and outgained them 330-175 for the game.

Williamsport pieced together a 99-yard drive, capped by a 13-yard TD run from Taemyji Boyce-Brown, to go ahead 14-7 at halftime. The Wildcats never looked back and are now winners of four straight games.

Life on the gridiron won’t get any easier for the Hubs (3-3), who are set to host Fort Hill on Friday. The Sentinels (6-0) are coming off a 36-7 win over Mountain Ridge.

Washington 55, South Hagerstown 14

South Hagerstown QB Lucas Semler accounted for two TDs, but the Rebels could not keep pace with Washington in Friday’s game.

Semler fired a 20-yard TD strike to Percell Clay III, and also returned an offensive fumble for a score.

South (2-4) saw a two-game winning streak come to an end. Washington improved to 2-4.

The Rebels will try to bounce back on Thursday, when they host Williamsport (5-1), a squad coming off a 24-7 win over North Hagerstown.

Musselman 24, Boonsboro 21

Eric Hugas’ late 30-yard field goal proved to be the difference in a game that saw Musselman storm all the way back from a 21-0 halftime deficit.

Boonsboro (3-3) seemed in full control of the game after two quarters, cruising to a three-score lead with two rushing TDs from Jadon King and another from Landen Sallerson.

The Applemen (2-4) were unfazed and got back into the game with a 25-yard scoring scamper from Mason Johnson, before tying the game with two more rushing TDs in the fourth quarter. It was that steady running game that set the stage for the heroics of Hugas.

Boonsboro will be looking to return to its winning ways on Thursday, when it hosts Clear Spring (1-5), a squad coming off a 56-0 loss to Smithsburg.
