SMITHSBURG – Motorcycles, cars and bicycles will ride in memory of the late Mike Taber on Saturday, Oct. 4. The Mike Taber Bike Rally will be held from noon to 3 p.m. at the sponsoring church, St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran, 13025 Greensburg Road, and proceed past the spots that meant so much to Mike and the people he touched. Several routes are planned.
Church Pastor Julie Brigham said, “Mike, with his bushy, white beard, had reached out to every person at church events. They had stories to share and were devastated by his loss in January. This is a chance to do something for the community and church, and money raised will be donated in Washington County, Maryland, to the charities Ladders to Leaders, and Micah’s Backpack.”
