HAGERSTOWN – The Washington County Division of Emergency Services is advising residents that the Maryland State Police Aviation Command will conduct scheduled training exercises at the Washington County Public Safety Training Center on multiple dates in February and March.
Officials said the exercises are planned, and there is no cause for concern.
Training sessions are scheduled from 8 a.m. to noon on the following dates in February: Feb. 16, Feb. 19, Feb. 23 and Feb. 25.
Additional evening training sessions will take place in March from 5 to 10 p.m. on March 2, March 4, March 9, March 10, March 12 and March 17.
During these timeframes, residents and businesses in the surrounding area may notice increased helicopter activity. Emergency services officials said the activity is part of routine preparedness training to support public safety operations across the region.
The Washington County Division of Emergency Services said the announcement is being shared as a courtesy to keep neighboring businesses and venues informed.
