The Waynesboro Area Senior High School Maidens softball team honored both past and present athletes Thursday evening, hosting a special alumni celebration during their game against James Buchanan.
The Maidens welcomed back former players, recognizing their contributions to the program alongside the current roster. The ceremony included introductions of alumni from as early as 1993 and as recent as 2024, spanning every position from pitcher to right field.
Despite the spirited event, the Maidens fell to James Buchanan by a score of 9-4. The team’s current athletes were joined on the field by alumni, highlighting the program’s legacy and the bond between generations of players.
The night concluded with applause for all Maidens, past and present, as the community celebrated the enduring tradition of WASHS girls softball.
