We’re only just past the halfway point of the girls volleyball season, but it might be time to start thinking about the playoffs for the Greencastle-Antrim Blue Devils.
Coach Madee Goodwin’s Blue Devils kept the wins rolling last week to not only maintain their top spot in the Mid-Penn Colonial Division, but also keep control of all of District 3-4A.
Chambersburg’s girls soccer team is making a push for the district playoffs after extending its points streak to four games, while the North Hagerstown boys are 3-2 after winning both of their games last week.
In cross country, North Hagerstown’s Carson Wilt (16:54) and Landon Call (16:55) were the 1-2 finishers at last weekend’s Hereford Bull Run, while the Hub girls were guided by Top 5 finishes from Mackenzie Philp (3rd in 19:42) and Caroline Philp (5th in 20:12). The Ben Bloser Invitational, hosted by Big Spring, featured some strong performances from Chambersburg runners, with Julian Clark taking 10th in 16:31 in the boys race, and Natalie Quinn (9th in 19:16) and Lillian Spohn (21st in 20:03) securing top finishes in the girls race.
The Mid-Penn Commonwealth Division wrapped up its regular season last weekend. Chambersburg’s Tommy Johnston shot a 74 in the final meet.
Below is a sport-by-sport look at how teams in the Local.News1 coverage area performed last week:
