It was a great week to be a Chambersburg Trojan.
Chambersburg shined in multiple sports across the high school arena. The softball team knocked off the defending state champion, Central Dauphin, while the girls lacrosse team earned its first win over State College in program history. The Trojans’ baseball squad improved to 3-0 for the first time since 2013, while Chambersburg’s track team hosted the Tim Cook Invitational, and got a win in the triple jump from Olivia Coy.
Chambersburg wasn’t the only school that stood out last week. Greencastle’s baseball and softball squads are both off to unbeaten starts, and the same can be said for both of Smithsburg’s teams on the ballfield.
Area track squads were all over the invitational scene last week, with local event winners including North Hagerstown’s Caroline Philp (3,200) and Anna Chamberlin (100 hurdles, high jump), South Hagerstown’s Trinity Savage (long jump) and Torin Sitter (400), Smithsburg’s Lauren Boumel (triple jump), Emilia Spithaler (high jump), and Dylan Herbst (800), and Greencastle-Antrim’s Noah Parks (800).
Below is a sport-by-sport look at how teams in the Local.News1 coverage area performed last week:
