Winter sports are underway for the seven schools in the Local.News1 coverage area, and a number of those teams are off to fast starts.
Chambersburg’s boys basketball team is off to an undefeated start at 2-0, while South Hagerstown has kicked off its season with a win. In the pool, Fairfield’s Samantha Lawler had a big day at the Dover Eagle Invitational, posting a runner-up finish in the 100 breaststroke and third in the 200 IM. Another Fairfield athlete, heavyweight wrestler Caleb Tyler, was crowned the champion at the East Pennsboro Big Cat Brawl.
Indoor track season opened in Maryland with the Terry Baker Invitational. Individual winners from the invite included North Hagerstown’s Walker Mason (3,200) and South Hagerstown’s Trinity Savage (55).
