There’s plenty of pride to go around between the girls soccer programs at Chambersburg and Greencastle-Antrim.
The Trojans and Blue Devils have each made 11 appearances at the District 3 playoffs, with Greencastle making the postseason for the past five years and Chambersburg qualifying for the dance last fall.
But after slow starts this season, neither team would qualify for the 2025 playoffs if they started today. The Blue Devils have won two of eight games, while the Trojans are fighting to stay at .500.
The good news for these Franklin County squads is that there is still time to turn the ship around. That journey toward a comeback begins on Saturday when the Blue Devils and Trojans meet in Chambersburg in a contest that we’ve selected as our Game of the Week.
In the weeks and months to come throughout the high school sports season, we play on spotlighting multiple teams and sports with our Game of the Week. Any big upcoming games or meets we should know about? Send suggestions to Andy Sandrik via email at [email protected].
